These are familiar frustrations, but learning how to improve streaming speed is usually less about paying for the fastest internet plan and more about fixing the weak point between your service, WiFi network, and streaming device.
For homes with multiple TVs, phones, tablets, smart devices, and security cameras online at once, a good connection needs more than a router placed wherever the cable company installed it. The goal is consistent performance in the rooms where you actually watch, work, and relax.
Start by Finding the Real Cause of Slow Streaming
Streaming problems can look identical on screen even when their causes are very different. A slow connection from your internet provider, a weak WiFi signal, an overloaded router, and an aging streaming device can all create buffering. Rebooting equipment may help temporarily, but it will not solve a network design issue.
Start with a speed test near your router, then run the same test in the room where buffering happens. If speeds are poor everywhere, the issue may be your internet service, modem, or router. Use Ethernet Where Reliability Matters Most

This does not mean every device in the house needs a visible cable running across the floor. Check the Router, Modem, and Streaming Device
Internet equipment does not last forever. A router that worked well several years ago may struggle with the number of devices now found in a typical connected home. Older models may lack the capacity, WiFi standard, processing power, or security updates needed for current streaming demands.

Likewise, moving to a faster internet plan will not repair poor coverage inside the house. If the signal cannot reliably reach the upstairs TV, more speed entering the home will not necessarily improve the experience at that TV. First identify whether the bottleneck is incoming service, router capacity, WiFi placement, or device performance.
